The Program

During this 3-week session, participants will learn a combination of in-camp, leadership and Trail skills needed to help them learn to be a better teacher, mentor, and facilitator, and ultimately a great future staff member.

Their time at camp will be spent focusing on discovering teaching skills, learning about camper behavior, creating and then executing lessons for program areas. Staff Apprentice Program participants will also head out on Trail for about six days, learning facilitation and teaching techniques, and then have a chance to test them out on the trail with their peers. The learning and fun doesn’t stop there – Staff Apprentice will also play section games and head out to the challenge course, all while working alongside our wonderful staff all across Camp.

Whether it’s the next chapter in your Manito-wish experience or a new chapter all together, we are ready to help you learn how to make the magic of Camp happen.

This program is open only to 16 and 17 year olds, no past Manito-wish experience is required, although preferred. If you are new to Manito-wish, please contact Carter Lindley, Summer Program Director, before registering. Carter will be happy to talk with you about the program, answer any questions, and help determine if the Staff Apprentice Program is right for you.

The Staff Apprentice program was such a unique way to develop team building and leadership skills to be used as a staff member next summer while having an amazing time growing close with the other participants. Our Trail trip was easily the best experience I’ve ever had at Camp and was filled with so many songs, laughs, and crazy good food. This program helped me meet four of the most amazing people I know and prepare me to be the very best I can be in the future. I would recommend the Staff Apprentice Program to anyone who want to spend 3 weeks this summer having an amazing time.
