If you’re looking for a way to unplug with family, spend time with friends and experience the many activities and traditions of Camp Manito-wish YMCA, Family Camp is the place to be. Camp Manito-wish, located in Boulder Junction, has been in operation since 1919. Family Camp is a time when Camp is open to all ages, from young toddlers to octogenarian. Whether your family and friends are first time campers or have visited Camp over the decades, this is sure to be an experience of fun and family growth.

Participants have the option of a 4-day or 6-day experience which includes living on site in a cabin, eating family-style meals in the historic Nash Lodge, spending time participating in a variety of activities, sharing their talents at the Camp show or simply unwinding beside an evening campfire or enjoying the night sky in the gorgeous Northwoods setting on Boulder Lake.

THE PROGRAM

Our Family Camp Program is structured to give participants a taste of our 3-week Summer Camp sessions in a condensed 4-day or 6-day format.

Whether you choose to join us for 4-days or 6-days, each sessions will provide the opportunity for families to enjoy all our program areas and activities as well as spend time together and with other families. Free time and relaxation is also encouraged.

THE ACTIVITIES

Waterfront activities on Boulder Lake including canoeing, sailing, kayaking, fishing and swimming.

Overnight and day-trip canoe adventures to sunset, an iconic Summer Camp campsite.

Our program areas will be open and most include instruction during your time at Family Camp. Both water and land activities are available and include:

  • Archery
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Nature
  • Mountain Biking
  • Swimming
  • Horseback Riding
  • Paddling (Canoeing, Kayaking or SUP)
  • Riflery
  • Sailing
  • Tennis
  • High Ropes Challenge Course and Indoor Climbing Wall.

We also encourage you to bring your fishing pole, relax beside an evening campfire, participate in evening games, laugh along at skit night, and simply enjoying the Northwoods’ night sky.
