Wilderness Program Director
Paul considers himself an ardent, alternative educator working at the intersection of outdoor, experiential, and environmental education. He followed his interests in wilderness trip leading and environmental justice after graduating from Kalamazoo College in 2013 and spent recent years working at Conserve School in nearby Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin most recently as the Assistant Director of Outdoor Programs. Paul has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Studies from “K” College and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Education from UW Stevens Point. Beyond working, teaching, and leading wilderness trips for Conserve School, Paul also brings his experience leading and supporting the wilderness trips of Kalamazoo College’s ‘LandSea’ program. Paul has spent time over the past five years as a training trip leader, counselor, Trips House staff member, Leadership facilitator, Outpost leader and Section Director with Camp Manito-wish YMCA. In addition to traveling the wilderness, Paul is a creative writing and photography enthusiast. In his free time if he’s not on a personal trip, Paul enjoys biking, cross country skiing, and Ultimate Frisbee.
